David Gura Architects is a professional practice committed to design excellence and superior project management.  The firm specializes in housing, historic reuse, interior design and health care projects where functional limitations are ably accommodated, thus providing creative, aesthetically appropriate solutions to difficult problems.

Since the establishment of the firm in 1976, David Gura Architects has been responsible for major residential conversion projects and has won an award from the American Institute of Architects for the conversion of the Pythian Condominiums in New York City.  In addition, the firm has been responsible for many commercial and residential architectural commissions for such clients as Gulf + Western, film director Robert Altman (private residence), Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Preferred Health Networks, NYC Educational Construction Fund, Prudential, Rothschild Investments, Morgan Guaranty, Kayser Roth, and the Wickes Corporation.  David Gura has been interviewed about his work by Elsa Klench on her CNN television program Style and the firm has been published on numerous occasions in such publications as The New York Times, Metropolis, House and Garden, Buildings, Oculus, New York Magazine, etc.  Mr. Gura was a recipient of a 1995 Distinguished Alumni Award from the State University of New York.  The SUNY Alumni Honor Roll recognizes the achievements of outstanding Alumni for excellence in their careers.
