WALLACH RESIDENCE

This two-bedroom 2½ bath, 2000+sf New York apartment designed in an adapted Far-Eastern style incorporates a gourmet kitchen, home theater, integrated audio/video system and remote control scene lighting throughout the apartment.  The stair is constructed of tubular steel suspended into a steel column and finished with cherry wood treads.  The floors of the kitchen, dining and seating areas are finished in various-sized porcelain tiles.  Customized backlit shoji screens and a stainless steel and cherry wood railing surround the living room.  Translucent laminated glass panels, mimicking rice paper, were inserted into the cherry wood custom-designed doors.  The master bedroom suite includes a transparent glass and cherry wood wall overlooking a two-story seating area and the kitchen.  Remote control lighting and integrated shades provide privacy for the bedroom. The master bath in travertine and green marble overlooks the two-story space and bedroom, adding an additional dimension to this room.  Neon lighting surrounds the stainless steel trough around each of the medicine cabinets.  A walk-in closet with travertine and green marble flooring and birdseye maple cabinetry completes the master suite.
